| Weird behavior I just introduced a cory and my gourami keeps pecking it. Is this normal? |

| yes ..gourami's are territorial and might see him as a threat..what size tank? and cories like to be in schools ....you could take the gourami out, move the decorations around and then put him back in |

| That is what my mom said. I put a bunch of plants around to make a great hiding spot. When do you think it will adjust to the cory? It is a ten gallon tank |

| are they the only two fish in there? |

| No. There are 5 fish in all including the gourami and cory. |

| what other fish? because 10 gals for a gourami and the cory is probably just enough room for the cory to get away and the gourami to find a spot of his own...they are bosy fish for sure |

| Well, the only other fish in the tank are a black phantom tetra, and a bloodfin tetra. Also, can you please tell me when the gourami will stop bothering the cory(if she does)? Last edited by catfishlover123; January 19th, 2009 at 09:56 PM.

| Oh no. That is a problem. Is there any other thing I can do besides redecorating and getting a bigger tank? |

| Will a divider work? |

| it will stop the harrassing, but theres no room for a divider where they are overcrowded now..but it will work temporarily...why cant you move around the decorations? |

| I did. I made a tiny hideaway for the cory.It worked for a while but now it's not working. These are the items in my tank: two lego structures(small), 5 plants, a little hut, and that's it. Can they be put in a way to stop the harrasing? |

| where does the gourami hang out mostly? and did you take out the gourami before you moved things around?
whatever the gourami hangs out in mostly, is what you totally want to move around with the gourami out of the tank..dont do it with her in there...its like you are introducing her to a new tank kinda thing |

| Hey, i introduced two corys the same time i got my gouramis and they were fine when i got another two later down the track, my gourami was a bit aggressive towards the new ones but this was for a very short time now they swim right passed each other. he/she is most likely just a bit defensive about the new comers it shouldn't last for long but keep a watchful eye on any developments.

| I hope it works for you!!!!! keep her out about 1/2 to an hour but make sure shes kept warm..use some of the tank water in a fresh clean container that doesnt have any soap residue on it...or even your bucket you use for water changes...totally redo all the decorations, and see if that makes a difference... |

| Well Shawnie, I tried your idea. It worked, but only for a little while. So I am going to try returning it. I hope that they take it. If so I will try to get another corydora. |
