Grey patch on molly

I noticed that my gold dust molly has a grey patch on one side. What do you think caused this? Is it normal?

I remember reading that you just received this fish as a gift. I hate to say it, but it may have been hurt when it was netted at the store. hopefully not. maybe some one with more experiance with mollies would help out.

It would help if you could post a picture. If it is fluffy like cotton, it could be a fungus. I guess there is also the possibility that it is velvet disease. But, without seeing it, it's hard to diagnose.

Yea, we need a picture to see what it is, make sure your mom keeps her receipt from when she bought it.

Don't worry, my mom kept the reciept and you can go back to the store and they'll replace it for free.

Also, the gray spot is in the inside of the molly. I can see it clearly on only one side.

My molly is acting very normal and eats all the food it can get. It has been a few days since I have seen it.

Is the grey patch at the back of the Molly? Is it male or female? What colour is the fish?
