Red Tailed Shark or Rainbow Shark

I would go with the rainbow shark. They've got a more mellow personality than their more agressive red tailed cousins. They are slightly less nippy than the redtail shark, but still territorial and you should still keep only one in a tank provided with a cave to guard and plants to hide in.

I've heard reports form some members that they have about the same personality.
I'm getting a RTBS...mainly b/c no one around me sells Rainbow Sharks.
I guess it depends on the look that you're going for.
Dark or light?

I prefer the rainbow sharks. Just a little more colourful. But that’s just my opinion.

They basically look the same unless you go for the albino rainbow shark , Rainbow sharks are said to be less agressive and are a bit more colorful .

Rainbow sharks can not be kept together. Only one per tank. The exception would be in a very large tank. Each rainbow shark will require about 55 gallons of water to call their own. Hence two would require a 110 gallon tank.

I prefer the Rainbow Shark, as you can tell from my avatar. Whatever one you choose remember to add him/her near the end of your stocking else they will chase and possibly kill new fish added after him/her.
