| I think you'll be fine without an algae eater. I don't have one in any of my tanks, and I've never had an algae problem. If you do have a problem, it could be because of overfeeding, because the tank is by a window, or because you don't vacuum frequently enough.
If you've ruled these out as possible causes, then you may want to think about getting a few ottos or maybe some snails. Not a pleco, though; they grow over a foot long and need a 55g tank minimum. A bristlenose pleco may be a better choice, as they only grow around 6 inches, if my remember correctly. |
