need one

ive heard that its good to have an extre tank incase one of your fish get sick and you need to seperate them from the others so i am looking for a tank of about 5 gallons including a filter, lighting, heater, etc. i would prefere it to be under $20 dollars and it can be used as long as its in good condition.

thanks for your help!

Another option is to purchase a second HOB filter. Run it on your regular tank to keep it established. For a q-tank you can then just use a rubber-maid container with the spare filter and an air stone. No need for gravel in a q-tank.

This option also allows you to be more flexible on tank size. A 5 gallon tank might be ok if you plan to keep very small fish and only have to quarantine 1 or 2 at a time. But if you have larger fish or ever have to quarantine several fish the 5 gallon would be very cramped.

You could try looking around on craigslist for a used 5g, you can find some pretty cheap stuff on there. You may be able to find one that comes with all the equipment you're looking for.
