Cloudy Water

a couple of days ago i set up my new 55 gallon but just thismorning i realized that the water was clouding up and im wondering if i just didnt clean my gravel enough or if i just happens and settles down after a bit. i do have some live plants and im wondering if that has anything to do with it.

thanks a bunch!

Cloudy water is almost always a bacteria bloom. This is a sign that your cycle is starting, good job!

I had that happen on my 10 gal. tank. No matter how often I changed the water I couldn't figure it out this strange cloudy white stuff. It had already cycled. I finally decided it must be some kind of algae. I had a bottle of Algaefix lying around. Put in the recommended drops. . . and presto perfect clear water. I really couldn't believe it! Normally I wouldn't use an additive as I like the natural way to clear things up with water changes and a cleaning crew. But this really had me stumped. And the fix was Algaefix. (also note this was for a freshwater tank)
