Need Emergency Advice!!!!!!!!!

One of my Platys is currently in the Breeding Trap and has given birth to 8 fry so far! I'm off to the LFS tommorrow to buy a 10gal fry tank but I'm going to need to cycle it almost instantly. Will I be ok if I add filter media, gravel, and water from one of my established tanks?

That's the best way to do it. The filter media is your best option, containing most of the bacteria, the gravel and decor will help as well. The water will help maintain the pH level the fry are used to. Make sure when you set up the fry tank, that you acclimate them to the new aquarium, just to ensure they will survive better. They'll be under enough stress getting moved around and 're-rooted' so the acclimation period will give them time to adjust as well as calm down some.
Good luck

Thanks. She had 10 altogether, here's some pics of the proud mum! Well, until she tried to eat them anyway. She's back in the main tank now.

Congratulations...Are you breeding them? or is your water always that green? If it's true green water, the fry will love it. Or is the resolution of my screen off?

Yes I am breeding them but this is the first batch so I'm not exactly an expert! The green you're seeing is the aquarium backing. They're in the box by themselves now, until I can buy a new tank tommorow. 10 gal should be enough shouldn't it? They'll only be in it till they're big enough to survive with other Platys

I would think a 10 gallon would be good as a fry tank. I am not a breeder either, but 10 gallons sure be more than enough, unless of course you get 50 or 60 fry in it,then you might have to get more than 1 ten gallon.
