Advice please For Puffy

This morning is water change day for all fishies lol. The water is setting out for 24-hours and room temp-which is fine for the Goldies but what about the Puffer-as his temp is 80% i don't want to shock him. as i will be doing a big water change as he is being treated for worms lol.Should i just boil the water as planned and add when it cools? or any other suggestions please. Thanks in advance. bella

I just adjust my tap water to 80°F, fill bucket, add Prime and refill tank.

I use an instant read digital meat thermometer but an aquarium thermometer will also work.

Hey Bella, I have the same situation, need my water at 80. I just get a thermometer and then put match my tap water temp to 80 and then use that. Beats boiling, unless you have to do it make the water suitable for the fish. Do you Prime in your new water or another water conditioner?

I do the same thing Dozey does. I don't use a thermometer though, I go by feel.

Boiling the water would probably get rid of whatever microorganisms the chlorine in the tap didnt get rid of (usually harmless to fish, unless your tap is really bad). Other than that I really dont see much that boiling the water would do.
