Leaving for 3 days .

hi everyone. The fact that it will be my first time away from home i'm getting a bit stressed about my fish. There are eight of them, I'm even thinking of taking them with me but i know that is quite crazy.
So what i have in mind is :
Clean filter, change some water (like a cycle), treating the ammonia with a tablet and activating 2 filters in the same tank.

Mostly i am worried about the food!
I thought of a weekend feeder but i don't really trust those things.
And automatic feeder? its helpful but i guess its useless in the long run because what i enjoy the most about my fish is feeding time. Like everybody i suppose .

Which method of feeding will you recommend me? I thought to feed them more the last day and put enough weekend feeder for those 3 days?

did i forgot something?

Is your tank cycled?

Before you leave, feed them but don't ever feed them, they could get bloated then do a good water change. Just rinse the filter media in used tank water or warm conditioned water. When you get home, do another good water change and feed them
They should be fine for 3 days without food.

Any tablet the removes ammonia will starve the bacteria.

As long as your tank is cycled well and stable it should be fine...I would do a water change the day before you leave, feed the morning before you leave but don't over feed, your fish will be fine for 3 days without food unless you have fry but adult fish can go a while without feedings-you see more problems with over feeding than under feeding...have a safe trip
