Well,,I treated him with Maracyn and Maracyn 2 that got rid of all the fuzzy whatever it was on his fins..But he still had the body white spots..I'm contiuning the maracyn and maracyn 2 untill the treatment is over..It didn't say anything about waterchanges on the packets of Maracyn...but I've been doing them everyother day 50%..I really don't see anything that would be worthy of taking his life..I mean the white spots are really the only thing..the red spots after the white spots are gone too..Just thought I would clarify, this isn't the same Dwarf Gourami that's in with my glofish..He's a healty boy!!..thank goodness...

Just thought I would clarify, this isn't the same Dwarf Gourami that's in with my glofish..He's a healty boy!!..thank goodness... That's really good to know,I was thinking you were talking about the other 1. Good to hear he is getting better. With the Maracyn meds,it isn't necessary to change the water. The accumulative effects, added slowly over the course of treatment, helps reduce the healing time. Keep it up,sounds like it's working though. You still can't come to any conclusion about what it is?

I have two dwarf Gourami's..1 is all by himself and that's what this thread is on..The other is with the glofish..and has never had any problems...except he's in a tank full of glofish that have parasites and ICH..lol..I'm moving him to a empty 16 gallon tonight....
on one of the previous pages there's a post about what I think is going on..I went to the LFS that I got him from and the whole tank and the same crud my guy does..white spots on the fins and body..The lady there said it was Lymphocystis which after reading the article makes perfect since to me..But it doesn't explain why he is so darn sick and almost dead.....There is something else going on that I don't know about...and can't see..He will not eat and hasn't for quite sometime now..

I also want to thank you SOF for taking the time to help me with this.
What should be my next step...I really think he might die

From, what i know, there is no cure, so you may either choose the following:
1) let it run its course
2) take him out (put down).
3) return it and gain store credit since your LFS agreed.

I hope you don't lose him. If he has Lymphocystis like the LFS The article Mike linked you to said it should run it's course in a couple of weeks.
Good luck, you've tried so hard for the little guy.

Well, I think I've decided to take him back..I called the LFS today and they are still treating the tank..I asked her with what and I can't exactly remember the name but she said it was very strong and very expensive and she said while the fish still have the white spots they are otherwise healthy..My guy is not. I guess they are doing a better job then I at this sooo I'm thinking he'll have a better shot there..And if something else is going on with him maybe they can figure it out. I just don't know what else to do for him and I know at least there he'll have other fish in the tank with him (friends) and he'll be getting treated.
