Yup..I'll try to get better pics...I did post some more on page 2 SDS that you can zoom in on..I don't know if you saw those but the second and 3rd pic show it best. I'll go and try to get some real close ones right now.

I took a 125 pics and didn't get any better then what's already posted on page two..I have a Kodak Easyshare Z1275 12 mega pixels and 5X optical zoom..But he is swimming so fast I can't get him..most of the time it's just a blur..I could try to post one of the other pics on page two without the resize to see if that allows you to zoom in better..

Yup..I just checked it and you can zoom in more on these ones to get a closer look. They are pretty big. Bigger then a grain of salt for sure.

well, I think we can rule out ICH, those balls are way to big, and out of curiosity is that a worm or poop on the glass next to him in pic two (kinda near the filter intake)? if so could that have anything to do with his sickness? anyone?

I don't think it's a worm..I think my flash must of caught something..The way I've been staring at that tank the last week. I think I would have saw a worm..But who knows..I'll keep my eye on it.

Thank you. Those are great pics. I'm not seeing anything that looks like ich to me, but your fish is also fairly light colored, and spots on the body may be getting washed out in the flash.
Anyway, it looks like the problem is concentrating at the ends of the fin, which is not how ich would act. It would be spread across the body mostly, with a few spots on the fins.
I would say either a fungal infection or a bacterial infection (perhaps even normal flora going out of whack).
One other question: The "balls" seem to be fuzzy to me. Is this the case? If they're fuzzy bits, it would suggest that we're not looking at parasites, but either a fungal or bacterial infection.

The following is what I would do if it were my fish. I can't say this would be the best response, because it has several disadvantages, but I think that any plan of attack will have disadvantages from this point on.

I would go with another fungicide (perhaps the one SOF mentioned. Not the antibiotics, but the anti-fungal he brought up on page 2, I believe). Keep an eye on the fish. If the infection seems to spread, or seems to be eating at the fins, I would add Maracyn or Maracyn 2 to the mix. Follow the instructions for water changes religiously.
If that fails, perhaps turn to a more drastic medication, or consider a salt dip (harsh meds and salt are about equally bothersome to a fish).

Choffman, i wasn't referring to anchor worm as i have 2-more fish that are just getting over worms and they came out in little bumps and i still don't know what kind they were, lol but after salt treatment and the second dose of jungle parisite they are just great now, but they did have little bumps and they were white lol. That's why i mentioned google images but I am no expert either, just trying to help your little baby . And if someone asked what they looked like i could not tell them other then that. bella

Well..Mr. Gourmai is getting better..I ended up treated him with Maracyn and Maracyn 2..This is only the second day of treatment..I see maybe a little bit of white stuff on his fin but it's mainly gone the spots on his body are still there but better. So I'm hoping I'm doing the right thing..But I guess since he's getting better I won't change things..I'm just hoping it takes care of it for good..

Praying that things continue getting better for the little guy. Keep up the meds, and keep us posted on what's going on.

The fins are almost all the way clear..It does look like it ate a little from his fin...The two spots on his body are still there though..The one spot by his gill to me looks worse..Maybe it's just healing I don't know..The spot is gone but it's red looking where the white spot used to be..I'm going to keep a close eye on it and it appears that there are two red looking bumps under his mouth..What would be a chin..lol..if fish had chins that is. I checked my heathy Gourmai and he has those bumps too just not red..I honestly have NO clue what's going on with this fish. I'm just going to finish out these meds and see how he is at the end of it...If at the end of the treatment he is still having the spots on the body I will then try to figure out what they are. I will get this fish healthy.. I'm just looking forward to being able to look at his tank and him and not feel bad but just enjoy the little guy. He hasn't really been eating all that great which really bugs me too...I won't come to the top when I put food in he waits for it to sink to the bottom and eats some then..

And this is kinda off subject but i have a bump on my knuckle and it was white..lol..I really hope I didn't get something from his tank..Is that possiable??

Oh, thank goodness. It sounds like one of the meds is doing the trick. I'm so happy for the little guy. Missing fin should grow back, as long as you complete the course of medication so that there's no left over infection.

On the kinda off subject; yes, it's possible you got some infection from the tank, but it likely wouldn't be the kind of infection your gourami got, and it likely would have centered around a previous injury. I've infected cuts when I've gone fishing, which potentially put me in contact with the same types of bacteria we have in our tanks. I just ended up with a red, swollen area around the cut.
Odd white bump on your hand may just be a cyst (little pocket of fluid). My wife has a couple of them. Most of the time, there's nothing to them. If they end up resting on a nerve, they can be painful.
Same thing as if you saw a bump on your fish. Keep an eye on it: if it changes color, grows, or irritates you, you may want to see a doctor.

That's funny, I got a PM from your Gourami saying that his owner has a white bump on her knuckle, and now he has white bump...he said he hopes he didn't catch something from you.

(I'm gonna feel horrible in the one in a million chance your white bump is something to worry about)

Well..I went to the store that I got my gourami's from..I looked in the dwarf Gourami tank and sure enough..They were "Under Observation"..Most of them had the SAME spots my little guy does..and on the fins...I found a employee and told her I had just bought one and my fish was experiencing the same issues as these fish..She said that batch they got was delayed 2 hours and when they got them the bag water was very cold..And then they all ended up with this..I asked her what it was she said it was Lymph.....something..I said how do you cure it she said there is no cure..I then told her I treated my guy with Maracyn and Maracyn 2 and the spots on the fin went away..She got the manager and told her..There was a few in there that also had spots on their body like my guy does...I asked what that was and she said a kind of fungus...She did say that if I brought him back they would put him in the tank and treat him along with the others and give me store credit, I just don't know what's going on with this fish..I haven't seen him eat in 3 days the spot on his body won't go away, I now think I'm seeing velvet..and it seems like area's on his body are turning darK??..I don't get it...I do not want to see this fish die in my care or anyone's for that matter..I wish I knew exactly what was wrong.

Oh gosh. Well, at least you know a little about the stress your little guy has gone through.
When a fish get stressed it causes hormonal changes as it's body tries to adapt to it's conditions using up it's energy and weakening it. A weak fish who has gone through what your fish did doesn't have the energy to fight off illness.
I know this doesn't help make him better, but it might help explain why he's not responding to medications.

Hey Cesch, its maybe not necessarily the cold water, its caused by stress usually in the transportation phase of fish, transporting, cold water i guess all contributed to the Lymphocystis.

Check out the link below, the control paragraph maybe relevant to what you are going through.

http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/...phocystis.html

P.S

Some good may come out of this as you might open something new to other fish keepers. you might even want to write something to add to the FW fish diseases page if thats possible.

I did see that!!!..YIKES!!..lol...I scratched over the sore on my hand half thinking some kind of worm was going to come out of it..but it is healing now and going away..I always have some sort of scratch or cut on my hands because I'm always scrubbing something or working on something and then I go and reach into my tanks all the time..I shouldn't do that but ya know....I'm glad it's getting better..I'm going to keep a close eye on it though..Def not wart looking but I hope it doesn't turn into that..It did look like the bump on my fish so it makes me wonder. My husband laughed hysterically at me when I told him about it..Ever since I got that bump I've been sick too..103 fever..My throat is very imflammed and my ear is infected..I was kinda starting to worry but then my hubby and kids got sick too and the sore like I said is getting better so no connection.

Here are a few updated pics of my guy..You can still see his white bumps on his side but his top fin looks ALLOT better..The Lymphocystis makes sense because he now has red spots where the spots were..Like on his chin and by his gill. Anyway..he is swimming around again and even flared up when he saw me!!!!..I think were well on our way to recovery..I hope..I've been doing water changes so all he plants are uprooted..lol..Or above gravel that is.

I know it's already been posted,in the previous pages; but what have you treated him with, how long, what water change schedule? If you changed meds what kind, how much etc etc.

I am sure we can find a solution, but bear in mind there are some nasties that you can't eliminate once they get dug in.Since the rest of the shipment at the store is under isolation for 'observation' your fish has been infected since before shipment, long before you brought him home with an unknown problem.
