Do snails eat snails ?

If I overfeed I get too many snails. So I cut down on feeding and some snails die.
Now I have dead snails in my tank.
Do snails eat dead snails ??

Snails will eat anything, whether it's decomposing fish or snails...However, you should really remove dead snails (due to them decomposing), or have fish (such as Clowns) that eat those dead snails for you.

I have seen my snails eat snails that I crushed for fish food and cut pieces that I fed my betta...so I would say yes....

Interesting question... I have no clue about that. I know that my Apple and Nerite do not outcompete or attack each other. Also my Nerite and Ramshorn co-existed well, until I decided to get rid of the latter.

In a small tank I once had a problem -transient ammonia spike- due to an unnoticed dead adult Apple Snail. So I remove any dead specimen if I notice it. As catbony states, when crushing snails to feed fish, the others go ahead and have their snack too.
