What happened?

Will tank mates eat their sick or dead? I am missing a tetra and I checked the filter, the pump, and he is no where to be. I just checked all the water perimeters and all is well. i guess it was just his time.

Natures disposal process, ensuring survival of the fittest.Eliminating the weak and the infirm.

Yes,even non-aggressive species will pick-on/attack/kill/harass any sick and injured fish, they may not always eat them, but they will definitely contribute to their demise.

This happened to one of my cardinal tetras...I had to remove all the decorations to find the lifeless body under a plant I don't know how it got there...
