| | Fish Keeper | he could, I don't remember what that poop means but all I know it's a sign that something is wrong (we already know that) having some type of internal infection could have weakened his immune system, hence the anchor worm being an opportunist decided on his host. the anchor worm is a parasite not a bacterial infection. so Peek a Boo could be battling both a parasitic and bacterial infection going on in his little body are you treating peek a boo with a antibacterial, a anti-fungal/parasite, or someone that covers both realms of sickness? -fishlover78 |

| | Fish Keeper | No, he has been resting for a couple of day's and he has had a lot of med's lol i thought i would let him rest but i do think there is something going on in his insides lol.
I gave him some zuccini and pea's and some b.w. with garlic gard to help his immune system as he has had too many med's i feel and needs a few day's to get his strengh back bella Last edited by shih-tzu mom; December 17th, 2008 at 07:18 PM.

| | Fish Keeper | maybe you should run some carbon in your filter (to remove access meds) reomve it after 24 hours. then use some aquarium salt (because he's a goldfish), and "lifeguard" which is an all in one antibiotic and parasite, anti fugal etc. they are both available at petsmart. If you would like to read about them here's the links: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753395 and http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2754001 they should also be available at any other pet store. hope he feels better! -fishlover78 Last edited by fishlover78; December 17th, 2008 at 07:32 PM.

| | Fish Keeper | oh, before you eve add the carbon to the filter I would do a 20% water change to get some "fresh" water in the tank, then do what I stated above. and as always add prime to the new water (you know that already!) |

| | Fish Keeper | which med? lifeguard? then I would just do the water change, add carbon to the filter for 24 hours, remove it and add some aquarium salt. -fishlover78 |

| | Fish Keeper | If his poo looks white and stringy, that can be a sign of internal parasites. One of my swordtails is experiencing the same thing and I'm medicating her with Jungle's anti-parasite medicated food. It does a great job...it says to use it 3 days a week for 4 weeks, but she already looks cleared up after 2 weeks. If you can't get your fish to eat the food though, Jungle also makes a medication called "Tank Buddies"...there are several different kinds, but you'd want the anti-parasite. Those aren't nearly as effective if your dealing with internal parasites, but if your fish won't eat the food it's much better than leaving him un-treated. |

| | Fish Keeper | GouramiGirl1221-he is an oranda goldifish, and i just went through anchor worms with him and he is a little pickey about eating right now and i have treated him with, all in one gard by-jungle and clout lol and he is kind of resting right now and has water changes daily and i'm wondering if it would be a good idea as he has had a lot of meds.? i know he has something going on but wonder if it advisable to treat so soon after all those meds? his pooh, is hairlike and mucas lol not very nice to talk about lol but i did read that comes into play for treating pariasites and with him having anchor worm[which i removed] i;m wondering if some is inside him. Just to update fed him this morning and all is back to normal thanks for all your help. bella Last edited by shih-tzu mom; December 18th, 2008 at 05:16 AM.

| | Fish Keeper | Like I said, aquarium salt is very beneficial to goldfish, it also helps in the fighting of internal and external parasites. |
