Mixing Up diet

Hey ALL,

Lately all i have been feeding my fish is Hagen's, Nutrimax? i think the name of tropical fish food.

i would like to change their diet every now and then. my idea of changing their diet is along the lines of instead of using flakes i will use pellets.

dose anyone have any better suggestions or ideas.

I alternate between shrimp pellets, different varieties of flakes (Nutrimax, Tetra, Wardley) and algae wafers for my balas and loaches. Once a week I also give them Hikari frozen bloodworms, they go crazy for those

We feed ours Omega One flakes on a regular basis, throw in some freeze-dried bloodworms about once a week, and give them peeled cooked peas when available.

btw, is your sig hosted by photobucket? ours is and seems to do the same thing.

Mike19- you can make your own gel food if your into that and i feed, brine shrimp, dalphina, bloodworms and pellet's, and lots of fresh veggies the fish all go crazey for b.w.-and brineshrimp, which is only given 1-2-week and in very small amounts lol hope this helps you bella

I would mis it up with some omega one food. Aqueon foods are all natural like the omega one. tetra and wardley are both crud fish food filled with fillers and dyes.

Mike I Would Seriously Look At Getting Some Frozen Brine Shrimp. All FW fish love it also get some live foods like a few worms and then your fish will have a perfect diet

Mike19-i think that you should just take a look and see the diff; brands and choose a good one for them as i have betta's and oranda goldfish and when i had swords i fed a good food from omega-one it is fairly balanced, the sinking goes right to the bottom and helps protect the fish against swim bladder issue's, as goldfish will gulp their food thus creating a lot of air lol. bella

Thanks, I have a long fin zebra danio, during my fin rot epidemic he got bloated although he seems fine swimming, eating, active, about 5min ago i saw him eating a bug that must have fell in the tank. the bug was popping out of his mouth for a while i thought he/she was going to choke although he eventually took it down.

Mike-i would get him some Brineshrimp and only feed as a treat type 1-2week they just love it or Bloodworms as it is high in protein, and the fish go crazey over it. i feed all of mine twicea week as a treat and i use Omega-One sinking pelletts and Omega-One veggie granules and i use Hikari sinking pellets for the Goldies and fresh veggies- the bettas just love the BS and BW's lol and very content after feeding. and i use garlic-gard to help their immune system-would be better then meds to help protect them and also Vita-Chem if you can get it. itis US based i beleive. hope this helps Mike.
