How often should you feed your fish?

Hey guys, I researched this and just found so many conflicting answers online and of course with my pet store geniuses, what do you guys and girls recommend in how many times a day should I feed the fish? I know to feed them the small amount where the fish will eat everything in a couple minutes, just not sure how often I should I do it in a day? Thanks all!!

It all depends one which species of fish you have and how old they are. Babies fish should be fed 4 times a day. I feed my Malawi cichlids and severums who are all still growing 4 times a day. Malawi cichlids do get cranky when hungry so I tend to fed them 4 times when they are adults especially in breeding mode. It tends to distract them from fighting. The angelfish and adult betta here get fed 2-3 times.
I have always fed any species of fish I have at least 2-3 times a day.

Hi The Fish Head

It would be easier for the members to answer your question if you could fill out your aquarium information.

Hi!

From what you have there, it looks like I would feed them 2 times a day. Small amounts a couple of times a day should be sufficent, and keep your fish happy and healthy!

A good rule-of-thumb=fishes stomach are about the size of their eye-adult fish need 1-2 times a day feeding and babies 3-4 times per day feeding-
and yes the fish always seem to act like they are starving-to-death-mine beg for food every time I get close to the tanks -but most times the fish are not really so-much hungry as conditiond, meaning you=food Over feeding can cause water problems and constipation problems, its also a good idea to feed a varity of foods too, I have special treats I give my fish like very small amount of fresh seafood and/or pieces of fresh water fish, bananas, cumcumbers slices depending on the type of fish-they like it and it makes me feel like I pleased them...LOL
