The kits cost me between 7 & 10 dollars CND. at my petsmart. And between 15 and 17 dollars at my local Big Al's.

WOw that sure is a lot of differences in the prices all around.
I am wondering if the kit from walmart is actually marked a API test kit or is it the same type of test kit? If it is the API, I will have my sister pick one up for me since we have no Wally World in my area.I pay the most I believe at Petsmart for mine. uggh... But they sure do last forever!

I've never seen the API master kit in any of the walmarts I've been in.
On walmart's website the description indicates one set of tests, pH, high Ph, KH and GH but according to the reviews it contains ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests.
Shawnie went to walmart and the salesperson ordered one. She was going to post back when it came in so we could be sure that the review was correct and not the product description.

the kit you want comes with ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, high ph/low ph

There is a separate test kit which has gh and kh.

I ordered this one from Wal Mart-

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3635493

They said it's online only so got shipped to the store so it's cool because it saves on the shipping. I had just paid $24 at Petsmart for the API Nitrate, Nitrite, and Ammonia liquid tests.

That will be ok.

But it would be good to test pH too.

they're not the most accurate but you could use test strips for this as it may work out expensive to buy the api set with pH now you've already got that one.

Thanks Steve. I was having a problem with my low PH, maybe it was because I use bottled water so definitely have to keep an eye on PH for sure.
