I think it's really up to you, but, if I were you I would start a tropical fish tank. Tropical fish are some of the easiest fish to care for. A dwarf gourami would be good. They are placid, and good natured.
If you want to breed the gourami's you could get a male and female, but since I don't have much experience with breeding gourami's, I wouldn't know what to say. I would get 2 females though, if you are getting a couple, only because males could show aggresion to each other in the future!
I really like zebra danios, and tetras, like neon tetras. These are both schooling fish though, so you would have to get 6 or more for them to really thrive.
It is entirely up to you though, everybody has different preferences! Go to the
LFS, and look at fish that catch your eye, and research about them! Feel free to ask any questions!
