Operation anchor Worm

Well, i did it and put Peek-a-boo in a measuring cup in which he couldn't really move.so i got a hold on this little sucker and it took me 3-trys before i heard a pop.and i think a scale came off with it. he was so good just lied there will i used the tweezer's poor baby. very trusting.I hope i got all of this sucker, boy do they hang on. Another couple of days and they would be right inside of the poor baby. So, now i have switched treatment back to lifegard just in case of infection and of course gave them both clean and fresh water. And i dabbed a little peroxide on his bo-bo. i feel so bad having to do that to him. i thought it would just more or less fall off.Boy i didn't plan on this, for poor little guy's as i purchased from big ale's and referred to them as my healthy ones [surprise] Oh, well all over-now big question i have to treat with this for 5-days and then change water.-but that is a long time in dirty water as1-is-in a 5-gallon for treatment. And is there anything else i can be doing as this little one, he is my baby and i wouln't want to lose him. bella

Hey good for you, you did it!

I would put Melafix in the water to help any wounds clear up from losing a scale.

Nice job. Don't fret too much about pulling the scale with it,the scales will grow back.

Wow, very brave of both you and Peek-a-boo. As far as no water changes. Is the 5g cycled? If not, this may be one of the rare (IMO) cases where ammo-lock would in handy.

Good luck to you both

No, Lucy the 5-gallon is a sick tank and haven't had a chance to cycle it as there is always someone in it lol. That is what i thought i could continue to do 50% water changes as they will get pretty dirty if i don't.And doe's anyone know, how to tell if it is gone as i can still see the white on him. Maybe his scale? I am nervous as when these two heal i have to seperate them accoding to personalities, when my tanks are cycled and put them all together 3-plus-3 in 2-40-gallons and i'm really concerned with this worm stuff.help please. As the 2-recues have none of that and the other 2-are fine so far.i have 6-in total.and my concern is that maybe it won't all clear up and it gets passed on. i know i have long enough to be sure they don't have a worm anymore but how can you tell. thanks in advance bella
