Blue spot on female gourami!

Hi everyone! Some of you know I got a blue gourami yesterday. She was the smallest blue gourami of the group. I fed her this morning and came back from school. After I did my homework, I looked at her and she seemed to have a blue patch by her chin! I got a food that says it helps with color. Do you think that she must have developed it while I was at school? I did not think she had it when I bought her.

Well, since she is a blue gourami, it's probably not anything to worry about. She may be adjusting to her new home; fish are often stressed when you get them from the store, so perhaps she is all settled in and her true colors are starting to show? Just my theory, I could be wrong.

Well, I thought she was just maturing, but that could probably be it. I also noticed the rest of the gouramis were not so colorful. The tag said blue gourami. I bet there were male and females but they must have been stressed out in the tank. Your theory is probably true. Otherwise she might be maturing.

Good one! Sorry, I was just wondering if something else caused it to get color.

no, she was either stressed when you got her and she wasn't her normal color, or she is maturing, and the food the "enhances fish color" is loaded with dyes and other krud, I always stayed away from it. it doesn't really do anything for the fish. and if it did, the results would take some more time to show

Okay. I did not expect the fish food to work that fast. I knew you needed to give it time. Thank you for your time!
