| Ugh, fry XD I was watching my dad's tank just now when I see a little black fish swimming in front of one of his decorations! After a thorough search of the tank, I caught 5 molly fry and placed them in our breeder net with a few little fake plants. It took a very long time, as one, the fry are very small, and two, they are the same color as the gravel. They looked several days, maybe even a week old. It's been over a year since I've cared for molly fry, and that was when I didn't know anything and our fry never lasted longer than two or three months, if any.
I fed them a crushed-up flake of food and some vitachem. They're super cute with their tiny little fins and all, but if even one of them lives, the tank will be overstocked and push the nitrates back over 20. I worked so hard to bring it down from 40! So I suppose I will take them back to the store when they are a little bigger, and after I get a whole bunch of pictures, of course!
I hope there won't be any more batches. We took back the male a month ago, but two of the other mollies are looking suspiciously round. The other one is still sick, and I can't figure out what's wrong with her. |
