There's some other varieties of plecos such as the bristlenose that stay under 8". Also otos are really small, and like to be in groups.

I'm really sorry about your pleco.

It looks like your tank is already overstocked. I wouldn't recommend adding anything right now.

Oh my goodness you're right Lucy. I'd upgrade that tank before you got anything else.

Hi CR_V!
Sorry about your pleco.
Lucy and PFP are right though, your tank is over-stocked! I would suggest to at least get a 25 gallon to house all those fish! As PFP and Lucy said try not to get anymore fish. Your cory should keep your tank clean for now.

Well, I wanted to get a pleco for my 10 gallon but there is this thing called stunned growth and your fish probably had it. It is when the inside keeps on growing when the outside won't. I think there should be a rule that you should research your fish before buying it. But that is just a suggestion and I know that we all make mistakes.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss well, If and when you upgrade you could get a BN pleco, they're cool looking like common plecs but stay smaller. and a big apluase to Plecolover12 for his last post!

Just so you know, make sure you don't get a Chinese Algae Eater unless you are planning on getting a 55 gallon. I've read that they are sometimes confused for Otto's. They are very common in pet stores around here, although our Petsmart seems to have recently replaced them with Otto's.

Cory Cats are good small bottom cleaners too, and come in many different variety's.
