| Fish Stuck My Oranda that i call peel-a-boo-aka-boo- got stuck in a small glass that looks like a ceramic pot-only glass. His head was in first and tail out how he done this i don't have a clue. so i had to pull him out by the tail and react quickly as he was having trouble. Now my question what should i treat him with lol i don't think there is any damage-but i had to really pull hard to get him out. please help. Boy these fish i have got to say are very interesting lol my heart is still ponding but he is ok so far. Reason for pulling hard he has a big little stomach-he loves his food. bella |

| Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! I'd just keep an eye on him for a few days and be sure he isn't stressed. If there is any damage you could add some vita-chem to speed the healing. |

| I would dose the tank with stress coat for the next couple of days just to be sure... |

| Sad, but humorous.
Just keep an eye on him. |

| You know, I had a goldfish that tried to swim up the intake for my HOB filter. I pulled him out, as you described. Curiosity killed the cat but my my how fish can flirt with danger!
I would do some stress coat for a few days. Keep an eye on his body and make sure there are no cuts or tears.
Poor thing. Probably thought he saw a flake of food. Poor little food hound! |

| The good news is that fish of the carp family (which includes goldies) are extremely resilient. My little Miyamoto succeeded in escaping the pet store employee something like three times, hitting the floor each time. He is still doing very, very well, a couple of years after those three falls. |

| My fish got stuck in the gravel vac too. I had to think fast, shut off the water and blow him out! ugh. The things we will do for our fish!
One thing that might prevent any excess stress would be to turn off the lights for a little while. That might help keep your adventurous baby calm. I guess he is a bit too curious for his own good. |

| This, little one, i swear is going to give me a heart attack as i was doing a regular water change in the vac he goes. thank god i was watching him so he just got to the beginning of the vac and not completly in the vac, another second or two and he would have been right in it,And no way i could have pulled him from that as his tummy is bigger then the vac.But so far today he is looking ok. He has a little damage on his tail where i had to pull him. but eating and swimming and getting into trouble, bella |

| to add to a story of resliant fish...
I brought my 3 cory's home in they're bag from Wal-Mart and set it propped up against the side of the QT tank for just a moment while I had to grab something or other. I turn around just in time to see the bag tip sideways (it had been stable for a few minuets so I think someone must have hit the side of it or something) and fall off the dresser that my tank was sitting on onto the floor (just slightly shy of 3 feet). The bag stayed closed and none of them ever acted like they'd even noticed that it had happened. <headshake> |
