Treats!

I have been considering treating my fishies to some extra special treats -- I have 2 platys, 1 betta, and 1 algae eater. I have seen people suggest peas for the betta, and cucumber/zucchini's for the algae eater... I haven't seen any special things for platys though... Is there anything special for them?

Oh, and just regular old peas? From a can work? fresh zucchini and cucumber, got that, (saw that in pictures!)

Yep canned or frozen peas(thawed of course ) Platys will eat anything I've noticed so what ever your feeding the others will do.

What's the serving suggestions for peas and cucumber? Drop a whole pea in? A small chunk of cucumber? Or do you mash them?

Cut the shelled peas into little bits, the size of their eye.

Cucumber, you can blanch or microwave it to soften if. It'll float so you need something to hold it down. I used a wooden skewer.

I quarter the peas(their kind of soft) and give the Bettas a quarter each. Cucumbers and zuchinni can be cut long ways and then in shorter pieces. Rubber band them to a rock, use a veggie clip or just stick a spoon in it to weight it down.
Here's a thread about plecos and veggies with some suggestions of how to serve them.
It's true, plecos love their cucumbers... & it's not just plecos... or cucumbers
