If you suspect she is pregnant get into a breeder tank... Fish seldom let you know when it's time.

Oh my goodness! Your two fish (the pregnant one, and the red orange one up front) look just like my two! Funny thing is, the one that's pregnant and looks like mine... mine has developed a similar bulge! Could that one have mated with the red/orange one?

I have no clue. I guess time will tell. I think I have a total of 3 pregnant platies (sp?)! My black molly just had 14 and I have 1 mystery fry that I don't know who it belongs to! I'm either gonna have to get a bigger tank or find homes for the fry.

That's how I was when I found the fry from the molly. The next day, I went to the store and picked up a breeder tank (3 in one deal) and caught the fry I could find. Right now the fry are still in there, but with 2 fish expecting I need to move the 15 fry to a different tank. So I started to call some friend to find out if they had a tank they weren't using so I can get that going before the platies have their fry. Thank god I found a 10 gallon tank that I can use.

I have a total of four fish. 2 platy, 1 pleco, and 1 betta. I'm afraid the betta along with the platy's will eat the fry though - so I'm trying to see what I can figure up myself.

When the molly had the fry and I didn't know...the fry were in the plants were I clumped a bunch together so it was really dense. Somehow the fry managed to stay alive with 25 other fish in the tank for almost two days before I get the breeder tank. You might want to try to do that. Or maybe get a tank divider?

Well, I do have some dense area in which there are fake plants. My live plant is not dense at all. long stems with long flat leaves on top. I'll have to see if I can rearrange the house though if it works, cool... if not, we'll have to try again!
