Oscar

I m just crazy about oscar....I heard they are very playfull..But I already have fishes in 20gallon tank(2molly,2Gourami,2tetra,2ramarosy,1zebra)...de finetly I want to add oscar but not now as I already have nitrogen cycle problem....But the main point is:1) Will the above fishes mentioned will be compatible with oscar and 2)Which OSCAR will be the best one?

the oscar will eat them..and one oscar needs at least 55 gals...so no on the oscar unless you are getting a bigger tank

You need a much bigger tank for an Oscar. I think 55 gallons may be the minimum. Also, I don't think an Oscar would be compatable with your current fish.

EDIT: Got Nija'd by Shawnie

Swaneel,

If you are going to get an Oscar you must first get a bigger tank. If you want to add to the fish you already have in your 20 gal tank you must first have some die off or sell them off. You also must let your tank cycle. If you want to know what fish are compatible with an Oscar for when you get a bigger tank then you need to look for fish that the Oscar will not eat and they will eat most anything, especially slow movers. Before you buy a bigger tank for an Oscar you should read up as much as possible on Oscars. There are books out there that are totally devoted to Oscars, probably in your local Pet store. You can also search online and probably within this web site somewhere. Until you get a bigger tank you should not buy an Oscar. They are very fast growing and will outgrow the 20 gal in about a week or 2 if it isn't already too big. Oscars like to jump so you should have a very tight fitting lid on a 55 gal tank. Your best bet it is to read, read, read and read some more about Oscars.

trust me and everyone else, don't get an Oscar unless you have a tank that is 55 gallons or more, I have experienced the growth rate and it is fast! so you could always get a 55 gallon tank, let it cycle and then get your oscar. which is the best option if you have the for it!
