Help Im a total novice!
Can any of you out there help me, as you have read i am totally new to this and on the advice of my local pet shop we have just added our 1st fish to the tank (5 harlequins). 4 of the fish are swimming around great as a shoal but I have 1 loner is this normal or could he be ill. Any suggestions welcome

Does he have anything visable wrong with him?

If you just now added them, it might take a little while for him to get used to the new tank.
Sometimes the stress of moving into a new tank can make them act oddly.

I assume your tank is cycled??
What's your filtration ,and how big is your tank.

It is not uncommon for there to be a loner. He is probably checking out his new home. How are his colors and his appetite?
Is your tank cycled?
What kind of ornaments do you have in the tank? Live plants or fake?

I have 5 Tetra and one does the same, try evening out the group...
