Poor thing
Hm... what are your water parameters? Are there any fish in there that are aggressive enough to attack him?

I've heard that sharks are aggressive toward other species of shark, so that could be a possibility. I don't have any personal experience with sharks though, so I'm sure someone more experienced will be along soon. Good luck to your little guy!

bala's are more in the catfish family and just look like a shark..they are very submissive and dont bother anyone...now the rainbow is another story...id get a test kit to find exactly what your parimeters are and in the meantime, do a water change with some prime....thats quite the stock for a 29 gal and the nitrates could be high and harmful...goodluck with him!
