The middle of an epic story

for those of you who havent read it, here is the beginning. My 55g is filled with treated water, has some beautiful red sand, a bubble wall, and a roided-up 500gph power filter. I'm currently cycling it. So, my question is: any ideas for aquascaping?
I was thinking some large plastic plants and maybe a flowerpot that an oscar can use for a cave.

wow its coming along awesome!!! are you just using the sand or gravel also? I can only give you my experience with the oscars...plants are a no go as they get bigger..they will destroy and uproot them...when juvies, they are fine...also, they eat alot of bottom subtrate and spit it back out constantly...id worry about sand getting in their gills ....im very impressed how far you have come along...great job!

I love that red sand!!!

I have no idea about aquascaping for oscars though, but have seen some of Shawnie's vids of them destroying a tank so...

(at least I think that it was your vid, but it might have been Lucy's)

Sorry! I wasnt quite sure if lucy had them or not and I always confuse you two.

Its acutally really weird how I know all these people on here but I could be walking past them every day and not even realize it!

I've read that sometimes putting rocks (large oscar proof ones) over plant roots/base and giving them lots of time to establish before adding the oscars you could have some luck with them. However I'm not sure how long that would last.
Good luck!

P.S. -angelfish220- I agree with you about the walking by them and never knowing. It would be awsome if anyone on FL lived near me but none of them are even close last time I checked the map lol.
