Rocks?

i was just wondering if i could use lava rocks (rocks from a volcano) for my tank.

If they come from an aquarium store yes, and even not you can treat them your self buy soaking them in a bleach solution, then scrubing them good and then boiling them.
I use lava rocks in one of my cichild tanks, I bought mine already treated from a store. However, I have limestone and sandstone in my other cichlid tanks that I treated myself and I have no issues w/ them.

i mean these came directly from a volcano in japan(when they weren't hot anymore.) so just wash them with bleach and boil them to.

Yes, I would treat them first before I put them in the tank. That will kill out any organisms on the rocks, etc. They sound like they look really cool!
