| Hi bella, I'm sorry you're betta isn't feeling well.
Is he bloated? Have you tried bits of frozen thawed shelled peas?
It sounds like it might be his swim bladder if he's have trouble staying upright. |

| Since he's not eating it might be a good idea to start treatment, it sounds like it might be a swim bladder problem, triple-sulfa is said to work well.
If you decide to medicate just keep a close eye on your water parameters because some medications can have a negative effect on the beneficial bacteria.
Good luck |

| Lucy. i went to the fish store and they said to let him go for another day or 2-and then medicate. he seems a little better since i got back, but not eating yet.and if i medicate and he won't eat how will that help him? He's swimming all over the place, i think he is in shock,as the fish store just dumped him into the bag fri: and i had to tell them to be careful lol. maybe he is in shock as he can swim fine. bella |

| Betta's are very finicky eaters. It's normal for them to take up to 5 days to accept a new food. Just give it some time. But if the problem continues, I would start medications. |

| No, he appear's in one spot and tail is to ground and head upward's and when he swims, it is normal .I think something has really frightened him. he moves so fast if i move. I have him on my desk right now and he is upside down. head up tail down and appear's to be sleeping.i think this little boy will drive me to drink lol and i don't drink. The breeder at Big Ale's said if he had swim bladder he would not swim properly and he is when he swim's.Just don't know what could be wrong as he looks good no spots or damage on his body or fins and colour is good. slim is good. so what'd left? bella |

| Just continue to feed him whatever you're feeding him, and eventually he'll accept it. |

| Try to add a bit of garlic juice to his food. From a jar of minced garlic. |

| I've tried the garlic guard and no go. he just don't seem interested in it. i've tried bloodworms, pellet's,pea's, and brine shrimp it is a no go. and i would think he has had this before lol. the guy's at the LFS said it was possible that he was to young to be shipped. The only thing i can think of-is that he is frightened.and if i start treatment how will he benifit if he can't or won't eat?, the way he swim's he doe's not-look sick. It is just the way when, he's quiet-he stay's with his head up and tail down. just don't know what to do for him. bella |

| Hmmm... if he's really spooky maybe put him in a part of the room where there is a only a moderate amount of activity and it takes place further away from him. I don't know what his tank set up is like and I don't know what kind of look you like your tanks to have but you could also try adding more plants and other things to give him a more secure feeling, (a sort of I see you but you can't see me). He might get better with time. As for the way he hangs in the water I've got a boy and he's forever hanging tail-up and head down. He swims normal but if he's still thats the postition he's usually in. I know that that's the submissive stance if two males are fighting. I don't know about your boy but good luck.
(hehe that was a bit rambly forgive me) |

| Sorry I keep repeating myself.
You're probably feeding him to much a varied diet. Try sticking with one food for a couple of days and see what happens. Like Red1313 said, it also may have something to do with the environment. |
