Is this neon carrying eggs or is she diseased?

I don't even know if it is male or female. It is very fat and the blue stripe is curved. I'm thinking neon tetra Disease but I'm not sure. Her color is still all there except for a white spot on her tail. I couldn't get a clear still photo, so here is a video. She is the one on the right at the beginning

It's hard to see the white spot on the tail. Is she eating, swimming ok? Does the spot look like a discoloration or a speck of salt?

As far as the curve and rounder belly, one of my neons is like that. I'm pretty sure that's how you identify a female.

It looks like a discoloration. She was not always this fat either. She swims OK and seems to eat OK too. I'll keep my eye on her.

You might want to put her in QT. for a while to see if the discoloration on her tail spreads.
NTD is highly contagious.

Good luck, let us know how she's doing.

OK, she is not swimming very well and she just keeps moving her mouth.

I think I may need to euthanize her

Poor little thing, I wish I could help.

I'm really sorry she's not doing well.

Sad to say but I would say she is carrying eggs and it appears that stress was enough to let the NTD spark up. As much as it hurts you need to get her out of that tank befor she gives the NTD enough of a boost to get the rest of the school.
