Is this a good tank to start off with?
I just stumbled across this and wondered if i could fill it with:- 5/6 Clown Loaches
- 2 Angel Fish
- Cardinal Tetras
- a few Corys or Plecos (Any Ideas)
- Possibly 2/3 Bala Sharks
Thanks In advance
Owen

Yeah looks like a great starting tank and good fish set up, but stick away from the bala sharks. That tank is too small for even one bala shark as they usually hit about 13" and need tons of swimming room. 75 gallon (285 liters) is absolute minimum I would suggest for bala sharks. If like sharks a single rainbow or red tailed shark would be nice (have to keep either one or large shoal of these sharks to avoid fighting).

Clowns and Balas will outgrow that tank. Yoyo or Zebra loaches would be a nice alternative the clowns - and a rainbow or albino rainbow shark would substitute the 3 balas.
Brislenose pleco would be cool.
Angels are best kept in 1s or trios because if they pair of they are very aggresive.
So...
1 Bristlenose
15 Cardinals
1 Angel
1 Rainbow/Albino shark
4 YoYo/Zebra loaches

75gal would be a bit small for balas really - 125gal would be more realistic.

That's an absolute minimum, when they grow to adulthood they need bigger, but 75 sufficient enough until they hit about 7-8".

Well, Neons I'd be worried about, but since cardinals are bigger and if they are reared together wit hthe angels rthere shouldn't be a problem.

hmm my angel is about 2.5 inches and really calm. he stays in his corner but defends it. how well do you think he would be with Neons

He will grow to 6" eventually - don't risk the neons because he will eventualy eat them.

Really? Is it just me or does this tank seem pretty small? Only about 32 gallons...

Usually 2" fish are safe. It's just smalelr than that you have to watch. But due to the glowlights body shape, be VERY careful.

Itt doesnt matter what size you start with you will soon become afflicted with MTS and then its all over. I started with 1-55gallon tank and now have 2-55gallon, 1-20gallon, 1-2.5 gallon with a betta in it and I am always looking for a good deal on a 150 gallon or larger.
