Platies, mollies, most live bearers are hardy...some cichlids are too. Kribs, convicts, most 6" pairing fish seem to be very hardy.
It all depends which size your tank is and you have many choices.
I see yours is 15g, so you should stay away from cichlids then.

Cherry barbs are incredibly hardy, lively, peaceful and colourful. One of the "easiest keepers" out there!
You could easily have 2 males and 3 females in your tank.

Tiger barbs
they're active, fun, and come in three different colors. Get a group of 5-6 cuz they nip in small numbers.
Tons of personality, hardy, and the different colors look amzing together
also you can put in a siamese algae eater instead of a pleco
its prettier, eats even red algae, and will stay relatively small

This tank is too small for a school of Tiger Barbs, plus the OP couldn't put anything else in the tank then.

Danios, livebearers, rasboras, smaller barbs, black skirt tetras, serpae tetras and even some of the catfish are a good suggestion for the novice if you want a school of something. If you want a good sized solitary fish, a convict or kribensis would be a good idea.

Yeah and not to mention there notorious fin nippers, ive heard they can harass other fish, so if you get a bigger tank be carefull with barbs.

My advice is angel fish, as you know they are cichlids, but peaceful ones. They look just amazingly in my tank. I hope it'll help you mate.

Im not to sure about the angel fish, it might be a beter idea for a begginer to stay away from them as they often can be become agressive if he puts other fish in the tank.

I personally didn't notice that they are aggressive, I have them in 55 gallon tank with guppies, mollies, goldfish.

yeah ive heard that too, i think it all depends on when u get them alot of people say if there raised with the fish they leave them alone, but it you add a new one later on there not as peacefull, it could also depend on the fish, everyone has differet personalitys

Angels will outgrow a 15gal tank. Goldies need colder water than tropical (cold water) BTW and don't thrive at tropical temps.
