I see some stuff growing on my driftwood in my sorority tank. it is VERY small maybe a 1/5th of a cm long. it is black and almost reminds me of mold.. they are bunch up but not touching. each strand is attached to the driftwood and not attached to another strand.

If you are using grapevine driftwood, it could be a fungus growing on it. That stuff is known for fungus forming on it.

Someone was posting something about a "black string algae" or something like that recently. It sounds similar to that description, but I really don't know.
