Not to say that you shouldn't be careful, but several people on the forum have gotten their rocks and sterilized them the same way as I did and as far as I know, none of us have had problems yet. What other fish do you have with your banjo catfish? The banjo catfish are not picky about their pH and can tollerate anything from 6-8.

I wasnt referring to gravel, most pet stores carry large decorative rocks, ie lava rock, limestone, slate and others and they sell them by the pound. Sorry about the confusion lol

Mollies, White Cloud Minnows, Cherry Barbs, Otocinclus, and an Angel fish

Honestly, with those fish, you could do rocks, but driftwood might be a better option. It will soften the water for the angelfish.

i found out granite is aquarium safe and i live in the granite state so lucky for me lol
