Update on the 150 gallon

So we successfully transfered a 150 gallon (with all it's inhabitants) from my husbands work to our home - WHAT A JOB!! Our local fish guy housed our 16 fish while we moved and set the tank up. Thanx for everyone's help with how to keep the filter system going and not lose all the good bacteria - it worked! Small ammonia spike when I added first bunch of fish but it dropped within 12 hours. so now this tank has been successfully running for a couple of weeks now and I'm coming up on the first vaccum and water change.
Since it's such a big tank I plan on running the hose out side and watering my bushes with old tank water. However I have a question about adding the water. I would like to run the hose directly into the tank but the water is city water and has to be treated (I use Prime). My question is can I add the Prime to the tank first and then hose the water in or do I need to treat each gallon and add the water bucket by bucket ?

I'm pretty sure you can add it right after you add the water to the tank if necessary, but you might wait for another opinion since me being 'pretty sure' isn't worth the life of your fish.
I've mistakenly added untreated water to my tank and added conditioner immediately after with no ill effects.

Some members use a Python for water changes, and I know people have mentioned there's a way to add the Prime.

At any rate, this'll get bumped up so someone else will see it and hopefully answer you in a more confident way.

I'd love to see some pics! 150g wow!

I read a post where someone who was using a Phython said that they added the water conditioner (i.e.Prime) just before putting the water in the tank.

That's what we do with all of our tanks here.

I would treat the water before putting it in.

I'd add the water conditioner in every bucket first (to be on the safe side). Good luck!
