other fish may be nippy with the betta with his long fins.... also bettas prefer slow moving water so if you have a high flow rate in the 55 he will be stressed and possibly unable to get much food

The filter I have for my 55g tank is rated for a 70 gallon. Although I do not have it on full speed, it still moves the water around quite well =(

However, the area by the intake is pretty slow, as I have the output pointing away from the intake. See my picture a couple posts ago to see what I am trying to say. I wonder if he would be ok chilling in that section of the tank then? But if the other fish will attack him, then I don't want him in there.

Nice setup on the tank =)
he would probably be alright as far as places to get out of the current since you have some decorations to slow the water flow in some areas (possibly add more) but I would definitely watch the other fish if you do put him in to make sure they arent nipping at his fins as well as making sure he gets food since bettas arent strong swimmers

We cycle without fish or products. I just let the tank run for about a month and then add fish.

You really shouldn't be adding any fish until ammonia and nitrites are both at zero.

I would not recommned putting a betta in a community tank. Even if the betta doesn't attack the other fish, the other fish may attack the betta. Tetras and danios can become very nippy towards your betta.

I just bought the API testing kit, cause yeah I was annoyed with the one time I had to go in to do it already, hahaha.

When I did it, it showed Ammonia at 0, Nitrites at 0, and Nitrates at 10 still. But the tetra's I have in now have Rapid Gill Movement. Any ideas?

Betta are not suitable for community's. Females are, but even they prefer to be on their own. You will get most out of them on their own, where they show off their lovely cute little personalitys!
