Dechlorinating tap water during water changes

Hi everyone,

Sorry again for asking all these silly questions, but I was just wondering ....does tap water have to be treated with aqua-safe before you add it to the tank during a water change? Again, we got conflicting advice from 2 LFS, one saying that it has to be used (aqua-safe), another saying that it doesn't!!!!

Please help...

Cheers...

Hi laurie, that's not a silly question at all.

Yes, use the declorinator before you add water to your tank.

Please ask all the questions you need, none of them are silly.

Might i suggest looking into a different product such as "Prime". Comes in a red and white bottle. Aquasafe takes cap fulls and cap fulls while Prime uses a few drops. Much less expensive and personally i find to be a better product.

I switched water conditioners to Prime recently and my fish seem happier. I'd say Prime is the way to go!!
