None aggressive but lively shoaling fish

I am looking for a small group of shoaling fish for my 65 litre tank. In the tank I already have honey gouramis & guppies.

I have had no luck so far with neon tetras (who hid in the corner ALL the time) and silvertip tetras (who nipped the fins of the other fish and attacked each other). Perhaps it is because I only have 3 silvertips at the moment? I am not sure whether to try to return these 3 to the LFS (would they take them back), or buy another 3 instead.

Any recommendations for other none aggressive but lively shoaling fish

I also have another tank with one betta and 3 Schubert/gold barbs. I also put the neon tetras in there though they still hide all the time. They seem to be getting on fine together so far.

I have a large number of mollies, and although not shoaling fish, they always seem to be together, usually mating, lol.

What about minnows, they may nip fancy fish a little though, but don't hide as much as tetra in my experience.

Don't forget about Corydoras Cats! Mostly when you think of schooling fish you think mid to upper swimmers, but Corys love to school and are quite lively. Plus they do some cleaning while they're at it. Never heard of them being anything but peaceful fish. Side bonus is they're cute as all heck.

Corys are great schooling fish. I, too, have had no luck with tetras. Corys I have had much more success with. My wife loves them as well. My kid just picked up some longfin danios which are very nice looking fish as well.

I forgot to say, I already have 4 corys (2 albino and 2 trili). I love them. They are soooo cute. But I am looking for another type of fish for the middle/top of tank.
