I have gotten into the habit of changing my water 25% every Saturday even if my water readings are perfect. Do I need to change the water weekly if readings are perfect? or is every 2 weeks ok?

I do mine weekly no matter what the reading. I do confess, I don't always test weekly, just do a water change.

Others may have a different opinion.

In theory, I guess you don't have to if your parameters are good. But, I do mine every Saturday morning no matter what. One good thing about a water change is the new water is supposed to have a better oxegen content, which would be good for the fish.

I always do water changes weekly. Changing the water every 2 weeks should not be a problem as long as you do not have any super sensative fish.

I do a waterchange daily! For my discus of course....

My SW tank gets changed every week reguardless.

All of our tanks get weekly water changes of 25-40% as well as a cleaning, regardless of readings.
