Looking for New Tank

Hey does anyone know where I can find a good tank at a low price? I'm looking for a 10-20 gal tank for the baby boom that's just starting. I just want it to put the babies in. I've got 4 that are likely to be giving birth. My one male has been going crazy since I put two females in with him.

Check out craigslist - sometimes it takes awhile to find something but when you do its usually an unbelievable deal not only equipment wise but also price.

You can pick up a 10 gal kit (light, hood, filter, tank) at Wal Mart for about $30. Then the only thing that you would need to get is a heater.

We don't have K-Mart's down here anymore, so I don't know.

The K-Marts around here don't sell tanks, I think they only carry some of those little betta jails, thank goodness no fish.

I found one for $40 at petsupplies plus. I just have a question about how to keep the babies away from the filter?

You could use fish netting and put it around the filter intake with a rubber band. I have also heard of people using filter sponges - cutting a slit in them and then sliding them up over the filter intake.

What if you were to take a piece of old pantyhose material and rubber band it over the filter intake? After of course, they have been washed well and sterilized to remove any soap residue left behind by previous washings. Or even better yet, the dollar stores sell the cheapo-depot "knee high" hose for just a few cents, boil those and cut a piece to fit and rubber band to the intake?
Don't know if it would work, but it was just a thought.
