What is in my tank

I found little odd bright white cottony clusters in the gravel behind one of my fishes favorite hiding spots all of a sudden. This tank has 4 Panda corys, 1 peppered cory, 3 pristella tetras and a gold inca snail who I just found an egg cluster under the hood at the same time I found the other stuff. Does anybody know what it could be. I don't know if they are someone's eggs or not cause they are not round and don't look like anything I've seen online. I don't want to vacuum them up if they are however it is summer and I'd hate to have any uninvited guest or guests in the tank. any ideas

It would probably be helpful if you could post a picture. Even with a picture, I would be no help on this, but it might help someone who can identify the "substance"

I had a huge infestation of cottony-looking clusters in one of my large FW tanks that had kind of a filmy aura around them... if you looked REALLY closely you could tell they were spores of some kind. I eventually decided that I was overfeeding those fish and there was some kind of spore attaching itself to the excess flake and growing on those in the substrate. It took four or five vacuums to get rid of it... haven't seen it since I vacuumed and cut back the food.
Is it possible that it is a mould or spore?

I'd remove them by putting a container in the water and gently moving these cottony clusters into it. It could be infertile eggs with fungus, but I'm not sure without a pic.

Actually I think I figured it out - One of my Pristella tetras is MIA and I think the other fish took care of the evidence. It seems to make sense considering they are bottom scavengers (4 Panda corys, 1 pepper cory and a gold Inca snail) Quite the little hoovers they all are. As sad as it is to lose a fish I appreciate them cleaning up the mess!
Thanx for all the input
