what is my red tail shark eating?

Ok, my litlle guy is swimming all over the tank eating off the decorations, mostly the plants. Going into them like a bee, he looks like he is eating something off everything. I toss in food, flakes, and he takes a small bite but ignores it and goes back to the fake plants. ?

He is actually probably trying to eat the plants they love to eat plant and should have a healthy amount of vegitation in their diet. My red fin shark loves to eat on my Cobomba plants prefers the Green Cobomba to the Purple Cobomba but he likes to eat plants with fine needles. If you don't want live plants you can get a veggie clip for the tank and put in lettuce, try to put it in the freezer for a little while thaw it then put it in the tank it makes it easier for them to tear. If you read on the fish profiles or ask in the forum peoplr will give you more ideas on veggies for him.

its a new tank, its been up for 10 days. I can't see any brown on the things. could be that its such a small amount. I will head over to the feeding section, I will try a veggie clip as well.

thanks

He's probably eating the really tiny organisms on them.

My RTBS does the same thing but he's happy and healthy so I don't worry about it too much.
