Tetra Safe Start

Does anyone know where to get Tetra Safe Start. I just got a new tank and I want it to go through the nitrogen cycle before i add any fish, and Tetra Safe Start is supposed to make the cycle quicker.

Your LFS should stock it, if not they can order it for you, but it should be available immediately.

Welcome to Fishlore.

I've not seen it yet, but it should be found at most fish stores so I'd call the local places and see who's started carrying it there.

I think I saw some at the walmart close by.But I wouldnt recomend going to walmart, they are horrable when it comes to fish keeping. The only reason I go is because I dont have a LFS.

If you can't find any locally, let me know. I have a supplier in Texas. As a warning though, I just used it on my 30g tank and it did not suffeciently seed the Ammonia eating bacteria. Not saying don't use it, but have a back up plan if you intend to.

I wouldn't recommend buying FISH from Wal-Mart, but I see nothing wrong with buying products from them, especially when the price is right! Just my opinion...

To Neon Tetra: I just ask my favorite LFS owner to get some Tetra SafeStart. Hope you let us know how it worked for you.
To Tzqng8: What happened? Could you share that info with more detail?

I don't want to hi-jack the thread, but we can PM about it if you'd like. Also, my blog has a post about it here (a long read).

Suffice it to say in short that it did not seed properly and I lost some fish because of it. Doing things the hard way currently.
