I would avoid vacuuming until you finish cycling, since you will be sucking up the benificial bacteria

Apparently, Stress Coat has a new formula that claims to neutralize ammonia too. I don't have experience with the new stuff tho.
Edit: John, I usually always agree with you, but a light vacuuming, only when needed shouldn't disturb the bacteria.......maybe 1/2 one week 1/2 the next.

Not more knowledgeable, I think you'll find there are differing opinions on this.

Well, I started using Stability last Thursday. It is supposed to cycle the tank within 7 days. Anyway, I am kinda freakin out because my ammonia is 1.0, nitrite is 1.0 and nitrate is 5.0. I'm amazed that the fish are still alive! Seem to be struggling some but can anyone tell me if there will be long term affects from these toxins? What should I do?
Thanks,
Lisa

As far as I know, Stability doesn't work (I don't nkow the exact details but I suspect they are similar to cycle) and can acctualy prolong the cycle. Just keep up those water changes and the fish should be fine.

I think it's the Jersey in us. lol
I don't know anything about Stability, I agree with Hatchet, daily water changes will get you and your fish through the cycle.
I know it's stressful, you'll get there.
