Can I provide balanced nutrition for my otos without having to use those nasty algae wafers? I mean, they fall apart, make a terrible mess at the bottom of the tank and you can not clean them up without making them poof! all over the tank. I just traded some tomatoes for some nice fresh from the garden zuccinni. I thought I'd give it a quick blanch in boiling water just to kill any micro-buggies that might be lurking and figured they'd like that, but would it be enough?

some people get rocks and actually have them in a seperate tank and cultivate algae for them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that they can live soley on algae if there is enough.
