What is this stuff?

Can anyone tell me what this white algea looking stuff is. This decoration is the only place it is growing.
Ammonia is approx. 0
and Ph is approx. 7.8 (cichlid's)

Hi jpetrilla! Wellcome to fishlore!
No idea. I have never seen something like that before. Probably a colony of some kind of microscopic fellows, not sure it's algae though. Hopefully the vets here come up with clarification. I'll keep checking this thread to find out.

Welcome to Fishlore.

I've seen that stuff on the exact same decor piece. I kept up with wiping it off and cleaning it and eventually got rid of it.

If that doesn't work or you'd prefer to, you may want to soak it in hot water and wipe it clean. Then dry it well and let it stay dry a few weeks, clean it again the same way and then soak it in a bowl of treated water before adding it back to the tank.
