ok.. so I was just going through some posts when I decided to google LFS and LFS stores when it hit me Local Fish Store.. all this time I thought it was some fish chain store in the USA.. like Big al's or something..

I didnt hink there was a need to check for abbreviations.. i thought it was an actual store.. hehehe.. I was going to look it up because was gonna go to the US on the 4th and wanted to check it out since soo many peole were going there.. lol...

That's ok,,, I have never heard of Big Al's before getting on here. Still wonder where to find one, lol With my luck it is some joke about a well known place and I'm showing my natural ignorance!

when I first joined, I thought MTS (multiple tank syndrome) was some kinda disease!! well it really is, with no cure btw, but I was feeling so bad for so many ppl with it !

It really is, and I got a bad case of it. Told hubby I was looking forward to our oldest still living at home to go off to college...maybe I could turn her room into an aquarium room without her noticing. 'Course she'd probably think something was "fishy" if the beautiful 300 gallon I just saw was delivered while she was packing.

That's funny --- truth be known, I think I also did not know what that meant when I first started here...but I didn't tell, cuz I am of a certain age and should have known. I thought it was like fancy "texting" language!!

right. when i started here i also thought that MTS was something like a disease or something really bad and let's not even talk about LFS cuz i just couldn't figure out what you people were talking about but of course i didn't wanna ask and sound stupid. i just yesterday found out what IMO by googling it LOL. everytime i ask my b/f what those abbreviations mean he laughs.

When I first showed up, I thought LFS was a type of fish... Big Al's? Thought that was someone's Uncle. Even now, I still don't really believe it is a franchised store somewhere in the U.S. MTS? Thought someone was dying... Was going to send a The worst was that there was a thread where someone was talking about suffering from MTS and then someone else said that they were suffering from MTS which actually HELPED them deal with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)... Then I was hopelessly confused....

I still see some abbreviations and I have no idea what they mean. The thread that shows the common abbreviations is here, whatever good that will do now that we have all been scarred.

LOL.. Yea, sometimes the LFSs seem like they're part of the big chains, with the poor fish care, etc.. but some are good and those are the ones worth giving business to.
