I need your help

I have a few guppies and I've been trying so hard to do right by them but I just don't have the resources at my disposal. I have two females and one fry (about 2 months old,sex undetermined as yet...possibly female). Please, if there is anyone in the Chicago area who would like to take them you would be helping me and them immensely. I just don't have the money to give them what they need. The only reason I have them is because I took them from a friend who I knew was just going to let them die and now I'm afraid that despite my efforts I will do them no better. Please contact me, I will bring them to you. I lost one already and I can't let it happen again.

Hi buzzkill,
I'm curious, do you just not want them?
If you want them and have the equipment, maybe we can help with whatever problem you/they are having.

Another venue is FreeCycle.org, it's a great place to give/get things for free.

thanks for answering...Lucy, I do not have the equipment to take care of them. The tank is a bottom "filter" and is only about a gallon, maybe a gallon and a half. There is no way, in my current situation that I can afford a better set up (the current set up came with the fish). I've put forth alot of effort trying to care for them but the set up is woefully inadequate and is proving to be stressful for them. The little fry lives in a pyrex bowl because mama wants to and has tried to eat him. I like these fish alot which is why I wanted to offer them to someone here because I've seen how knowledgeable and caring you all are. I want them to go to someone who can afford to take care of them properly...****, I can't even afford to get a test kit for the water. Just because my life s*cks doesn't mean theirs should!!!

Buzz, I hope things look up for you soon.
It's commendable that you are trying to right by these little fishies and saving them from someone you knew was just going to let them die.
Like Evelyn said, try Craig's List or Freecycle.
Maybe a fish store in your area will take them?
Or list them right here on FishLore:

Best of luck to you. The guppies can't say it, so I will..Thank you for trying to save their lives.

I wish we could take them off your hands. I admire you doing all that you can for them. You care for these little lives and I wish you the best in everything going on there.

I hope that by now someone has responded locally to give them a new home. Until then, feeding them and daily water changes gives them a chance and certainly more than they would have had so you are doing better for them.
